1 Mar 2008 - Attendance Information
ATTENDANCE NEWSLETTER
ILLNESS
We ask that you ring on the first day of illness and again if your child is going to be off for a while. On their return we need a note explaining the absent even if you have rung school. If we do not receive a note your child?s absence will be recorded as unauthorised.
ABSENCE PASSES
If your child has an appointment for the dentist, doctors or hospital during school time you must obtain an authorised absence pass from the school office before the day of the appointment.
Absence from school for a shopping trip or a birthday treat will not be authorised.
HOLIDAYS
You may apply for an authorized absence due to a family holiday. This can be up to 10 days in any one academic year. You must complete a form which is obtainable from the school office. The decision will then be the headteachers as to whether this is authorised. If you request more than 10 days they will be deemed as unauthorised absence.
No holiday will be authorised in the first two weeks of the Autumn term or the SATs period for Y6 pupils (wb May 8th 2006).
LATES
We expect all children to come to school on time 8.50 a.m. When a child is constantly late it not only affects their education, but disrupts the other children in their class by interrupting their lesson.
If your child arrives after 9a.m. the register will have been taken to the school office and therefore they need to report to the office to get their mark and order a dinner if appropriate.
